Conveyor Belts

Steel Cord Belts

Low-elongation, high-tension belts for long-distance and high-capacity conveyor systems.

Steel Cord Belts
OVERVIEW

Application-oriented belt technology

Steel cord reinforcement provides excellent tensile capacity and low elongation, making these belts suitable for long centers and demanding heavy-duty installations. Belt class, cord pitch, cover grade and monitoring options can be selected to suit the project.

Construction

Steel cord belts use longitudinal high-tensile steel cables embedded in rubber as the main load-carrying reinforcement. The cords are arranged at a controlled pitch and bonded to specialized rubber to achieve high splice strength and stable performance.

Operating Properties

The decisive advantages are very low elongation, very high tensile capacity and suitability for long center distances. This allows reduced take-up travel and reliable operation on demanding overland or high-capacity systems.

Selection Criteria

Projects should define required belt rating, safety factor, splice system, cord pitch, cover grade, impact level, troughing geometry and any rip-detection or monitoring concept.

Application engineering matters

Final belt selection should always be verified against the real conveyor geometry, tension calculation, material characteristics, duty cycle and environmental exposure.
